Get to know DaVita

We treat people with chronic kidney disease.

START

Hemodiafiltration (HDF) as the first-choice method

More than 1/3 of our patients receive hemodiafiltration (HDF), a dialysis modality that is more effective than conventional hemodialysis. Unlike conventional hemodialysis, which relies primarily on diffusion, HDF combines two biophysical mechanisms – diffusion and convection. This combination enables more efficient removal of toxins and excess fluid from the body. The patient also tolerates the procedure better and feels less tired afterward. HDF also enables more effective control of anaemia and chronic inflammation and, most importantly – improves patient survival. Although studies (e.g. the CONVINCE trial) have shown that this method benefits all patients with chronic kidney disease, in Poland it is reimbursed only for four groups of patients and is inadequately valued within the healthcare reimbursement system. DaVita is striving to change that.
