Szymon Brzósko

Medical Director

Nephrologist, specialist in internal medicine, clinical transplantologist. Szymon graduated from the Medical Academy of Białystok, where he has been teaching and developing his scientific achievements since 1999. He is a scholarship holder of the Marie Curie Fellowship programme (research scholarship in Italy at the Mario Negri Sud Institute) and the Foundation for Polish Science; he also developed his knowledge during internships and trainings in Romania, Hungary, Germany, and the USA. He also completed the Basic Certificate in Quality & Safety Institute for Healthcare Improvement course. Currently, he is a habilitated doctor of medical sciences educating next generations of doctors and scientists. He is also the author and co-author of over 120 scientific publications and academic textbooks and a speaker at national and international medical conferences. Multiple times winner of the awards of the Rector of the Medical University of Białystok and the Minister of Health of the Republic of Poland. Member of the Polish Society of Nephrology and the American Society of Nephrology. He has been with the DaVita team since 2014, and since 2017 has been the team’s medical director looking after the quality of treatment of the patients. He spends his free time sailing, and when there is no wind, he climbs the mountains.

Anna Kliś

Nursing Director

Anna Kliś, together with the Clinical Team, is responsible for safe patient treatment. Anna has been caring for dialysis patients for more than 20 years (for 16 years as a ward nurse). She is responsible for nurse education at the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice and the University of Bielsko-Biała. She is a long-time lecturer and head of internal medicine nursing specialisation. She is a member of the Science, Education and Professional Development Board at the Main Chamber of Nurses and Midwives and such scientific associations as: Polish Society of Nephrology Nurses, Polish Vascular Access Club and European Dialysis and Transplant Nurses Association/European Renal Care Association (EDTNA/ERCA). She is an author of scientific publications and textbooks, a speaker at national and international conferences and a member of the Renal Disease and Transplantation Forum editorial team. She has received and deepened her nursing education at several universities in the country. Recently, she has been awarded a silver distinction for her contribution to the nursing self-government by the Main Council of Nurses and Midwives.

Marta Serwańska-Świętek

Deputy Medical Director

Specialist in internal medicine, nephrology and clinical transplantology. She was awarded a PhD degree at the 1st Faculty of the Medical University of Warsaw. From 2001 to 2014, she was an assistant at the Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Transplantology Clinic with Dialysis Centre at the hospital of the Ministry of Interior and Administration (MSWiA) in Warsaw, then she was a consultant and an academic lecturer at the Department and Clinic of General and Transplantological Surgery of the Infant Jesus Clinical Hospital, Medical University of Warsaw (SKDJ WUM), and since 2018 she has been working in the DaVita medical team. She did internships and received trainings at foreign nephrological and transplantological centres, including, among others, the University of Minnesota, Sahlgrenska University Hospital and Universitat de Barcelona. She is the author of numerous scientific publications and a speaker at national and international medical conferences. She took part in the “Living Kidney Donor” programme and the pancreas and pancreatic islets transplantation programme. She received awards of the Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw (WUM) (2014 and 2015). For 20 years, she has been treating kidney patients, introducing the rules of nephroprotection procedure as well as preparing patients for kidney transplantation (including for family transplantation), for hemodialysis and for peritoneal dialysis.

Agnieszka Kędzierska - Ryk

Deputy Medical Director

Internal medicine and nephrology specialist. Agnieszka studied medicine at the Medical Academy of Białystok. She has over 20 years of professional experience, including work in hospitals, ambulance services, numerous outpatient clinics (dispensaries, dialysis stations). At DaVita, she looks after patients on a daily basis and, as Deputy Medical Director, works with the medical and clinical team to improve the quality of treatment and patient safety in the whole dialysis centre network. Whenever possible, she loves to relax surrounded by nature. In the summer, she likes to spend her time sailing.

Edyta Kaczmarek

Director of Policy and Procedures

A nurse with a mission. Edyta has been specialising in nephrological nursing for over 20 years. At DaVita, she ensures patient safety. She leads the Clinical Team that is in charge of the implementation and compliance with the principles of safe treatment. Before joining DaVita, she worked for many years as a nurse in an intensive care unit and in an American medical company (dealing with education, promotion, and sale of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis equipment). If nursing was not her great passion, she would work as an educator or coach. She spends every free moment gardening—she loves roses. She also loves animals (she has 3 cats and a dog), likes to read Polish crime novels, and is a great fan of the Piast town of Głogów, where she lives.

Krzysztof Hurkacz

DaVita CEO

Krzysztof has been involved in the nephrology industry for 20 years. He has been managing DaVita Polska since the beginning of its operation in our country, i.e. since 2013. Previously, he worked for Euromedic—a company dealing in dialysis and imaging diagnostics. From 2001 to 2011, he was its Operating Director and then General Director. He started his professional career in Paclan (currently Ceco) as Financial Director. He is an economist by profession. He graduated from the Faculty of Management and IT at the Wrocław University of Economics and Business (formerly Academy of Economics). In his spare time, he likes to play sports. He runs and plays basketball. He is also a huge tennis fan.

Dariusz Gawrych

Financial Director

Dariusz joined the DaVita Poland team in June 2020. Previously, he worked for 8 years for the Draxton Group (automotive industry) as Financial Director at EBCC in Wrocław. From 2005 to 2012, he worked in the audit department of Deloitte Polska. He is an economist by profession. He graduated from the Faculty of Management and IT at the Wrocław University of Economics and Business (formerly the Academy of Economics). He is also a certified auditor and a member of ACCA. In his spare time, he plays duplicate bridge.
